Flexel Ecoflex Pipe Freeze Protection Cable
A ready-to-use kit for stopping pipes from freezing in homes and small commercial buildings. The heating cable comes pre-terminated with its own pipe thermostat, a 1.5 m lead and a 3-pin plug, so there is nothing to wire up: fix it to the pipe, insulate and plug in.
It is a low-cost answer for boiler condensate pipes, outside taps and waste pipes, and pipework in lofts, garages and outbuildings, on metal or plastic pipe up to 50 mm in diameter.

Key features
- Fixed resistance heating cable supplied fully terminated, with a pipe thermostat already fitted
- The thermostat turns the cable on when the pipe drops below +3 °C and off again once the pipe is safely above freezing, so it only uses power when needed
- Plug-in connection via a 1.5 m cold lead and 3-pin plug
- For metal and plastic pipes up to 50 mm diameter
- Choice of nine lengths from 2 m to 42 m

Installation
- Run the cable in a straight line along the pipe; choose a length that matches the run of pipe to be protected
- Secure it with PFP fixing tape (not included)
- On plastic pipe, Alu50 aluminium foil tape (not included) must also be used to spread the heat evenly
- The pipe and cable must then be insulated with flame-retardant pipe insulation no thicker than 20 mm
