Electric Underfloor Heating Film - Best for Wood, Laminate, Carpet & Tiled Floors
Our heating film is manufactured with a special printing technique, enabling it to uniformly and efficiently distribute heat across the floors of your room or office. It stands as the pinnacle of underfloor heating products in the industry, ensuring unparalleled performance
and comfort for up to 50 years.
The heating film works by running an electric current through its carbon-based material which in turn creates infrared heating waves. Warms the entire room, almost instantly, from floor to ceiling.
Measuring only 0.36 mm in thickness, it seamlessly fits beneath any flooring, maximising space efficiency and it can be easily tailored into custom-sized pieces to accommodate any space requirement.
Moreover, the infrared heating film can either replace conventional heating systems or complement them. Not only is it more cost-effective than traditional heating methods, but it's also environmentally friendly, helping to reduce your carbon footprint!

Reasons To Upgrade To Underfloor Heating
1. Space Efficient
No radiators or vents — frees up wall and floor space.
Allows for more flexible interior design and furniture placement.
2. Cost Efficient (Long-Term)
Lower running costs compared to traditional radiators (especially with water-based systems).
More efficient heat distribution = less wasted energy.
3. No Visible Hardware
Invisible heating system — completely hidden under floors.
Maintains clean, minimalist aesthetics in modern or luxury homes.
4. Low Maintenance / Long Lasting
Few moving parts = fewer things to go wrong.
Systems (especially hydronic) can last 20–50 years with minimal maintenance.
5. No Leaks (for Electric Systems)
Electric underfloor heating systems avoid the risks of leaks or water damage.
6. Environmentally Friendly
Works well with low-temperature heat sources like heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
Reduces overall energy consumption when paired with renewables.
7. Even Heat Distribution
Warmth spreads evenly across the room from the ground up.
No cold spots or "hot corners" like with radiators.
8. Silent Operation
No noisy fans or creaking pipes.
Ideal for bedrooms, libraries, or meditation/yoga spaces.
9. Healthier Indoor Air
No convection currents blowing dust, allergens, or mold spores.
Particularly good for people with asthma or allergies.
10. Comfort on Cold Surfaces
Walking barefoot on stone, tile, or hardwood is cozy in winter.
Eliminates the shock of cold bathroom or kitchen floors.
11. Increased Property Value
Seen as a luxury feature by buyers.
Adds modernity and energy efficiency to listings.
12. Zoned Heating Control
You can heat only the rooms you need.
Greater control = more efficient use = lower bills.
13. Compatible with Smart Home Systems
Easily integrated with smart thermostats like Nest, Tado, Hive, etc.
Enables automation and remote control from smartphones.
14. Great for Renovations & New Builds
Especially electric UFH, which has low profile height — perfect for retrofitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of flooring is compatible with infrared heating film?
The heating film must be installed under a floating floor system. It works best with:
- Laminate
- Engineered wood
- Vinyl click flooring
If you're using carpet or soft vinyl, an MDF baseboard system must be installed over the film before laying the final floor. Ceramic tiles are not compatible with this product.
Do I need insulation underneath the heating film?
Yes. We recommend installing XPS thermal
insulation boards beneath the heating film. This helps to reduce heat loss to the subfloor, improves warm-up time, and increases energy efficiency.
Can I use this heating film in bathrooms or wet areas?
No. UK Building Regulations (Part P) prohibit using Class 2 electrical products (such as this film) in wet areas like bathrooms.
For these spaces, we recommend our Underfloor Heating Cable Mat, which is a Class 1 system approved for bathroom use.
Can I install the film myself?
You can lay the film yourself, but all electrical connections must be completed and certified by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK regulations. We provide installation guides and are happy to assist your electrician if needed.
How is the system controlled?
The heating film is controlled by a thermostat with a floor sensor, ensuring safe and accurate temperature
regulation. We offer both manual and Wi-Fi-enabled thermostat options.
What sizes does the film come in, and how is it cut?
The film is available in 100 cm, 80 cm, and 50 cm widths. It can be cut every 20 cm along clearly marked lines, making it easy to adapt to your space.
How much power does it use?
The film is available in 80W/m², 110W/m², and 130W/m² versions, depending on the application.
How quickly does it heat up?
You’ll typically feel the warmth within 10–20 minutes, depending on insulation, floor finish, and system output.
Can I use rugs or mats over the floor?
Yes, but only breathable, lightweight rugs. Avoid thick or rubber-backed rugs, which can trap heat and affect performance.
Is the system covered by a warranty?
Yes. The heating film comes with a 20-year warranty, provided it’s installed correctly and the electrical work is certified.
Can it be used as the main heating system?
Yes, this system can be used as a primary heating source when properly specified and installed.
