Self-regulating trace heating cable for keeping water pipes from freezing, suitable for both metal and plastic pipework. Because it is cut to length on site, you only use as much cable as the job needs. Prices are per metre, so enter the number of metres you need as the quantity.
The cable adjusts its own heat output along its length, and it is available in 10 W/m and 20 W/m versions for boiler condensate pipes, exposed domestic pipework, farm buildings, stables, garages and lofts.

Key features

Controls
- A self-regulating cable draws a small amount of power whenever it is switched on, even in mild weather
- To keep running costs down, we recommend controlling it with a frost thermostat, available from any electrical wholesaler
Installation
- Tape the cable along the underside of the pipe
- On plastic pipe, use aluminium foil tape (Alu50) to spread the heat more evenly
- PFP high-temperature fixing tape is available for securing the cable
- Always insulate trace-heated pipework for the best protection
- Each circuit needs one Kit 4 connection and termination kit (crimps and heat-shrink) to join the cold tail and seal the far end; the cold tail cable itself is bought separately from an electrical supplier
- Keep the bend radius to 25 mm or more and do not exceed the maximum circuit lengths below
- The connection to the mains must be made by a qualified electrician; our official installation partner, Standard Electrical Services, can carry out the work
