California Black 2000W

The Herschel California Black is the flagship of Herschel's Sunset range: a 2kW wall-mounted heater with a matt black anodised finish that looks right at home on a smart terrace. It delivers quick, powerful warmth with a soft glow, avoiding the bright, intrusive light of typical quartz halogen heaters.
As well as home patios, alfresco restaurants, bars and shops, it is a good fit for large, draughty indoor spaces such as public halls and reception areas where appearance matters. The Evening Standard picked it as "Best for effortless Hollywood-worthy heating" in its patio heater guide.
Full features, controls, installation notes and specifications are below.
Key features
- 2000W output with two power levels
- Carbon lamp rated for up to 10,000 hours, warm in 5 to 10 seconds
- IP65 rated, so it can be left exposed to rain all year round
- Silent operation
- High quality anodised aluminium in matt black
- Heats roughly 5 to 9m² outdoors or 8 to 14m² indoors
Controls
The supplied remote switches between 50% and 100% power and sets a timer of up to 24 hours in one-hour steps, giving you precise control over when and how much it heats.
Installation
The California is designed for wall mounting only and comes with a 2m lead and fitted plug. For a neat hard-wired installation, our official installation partner Standard Electrical Services can fit it for you. If you would like a stand so it can be used as a temporary heater, please ask us.
In exposed spots with wind and moving air, the heated area can shrink by a third to a half, so allow for extra heaters on open sites.
