A 300 W/m² heating cable mat that keeps outdoor surfaces clear of ice and snow. Laid in concrete, it is ideal for loading ramps and bays, car parks, driveways, footpaths and outside steps, cutting the risk of slips and accidents and doing away with gritting and shovelling.
The mat uses a tough screened cable with a UV-resistant jacket, is rated IP67 and runs on a 230 V supply, with 13 sizes from 1.5 m² to 20 m².

Controls
- We strongly recommend controlling the mat with an automatic ice detector rather than a simple air thermostat
- An ice detector uses a ground sensor that measures both temperature and moisture, so the heating comes on just before ice can form and only when it is really needed
- Compared with air thermostat control, this can reduce energy use by around 80%
- Suitable options are the IDC100 single-channel detector (up to 3600 W) or the IDC200 two-channel detector (up to 11000 W), used with the IDCGS combined temperature and moisture ground sensor. Contact us for prices.
Installation
- The mat is embedded in concrete in the outdoor area to be protected
- Each mat has two cold tails: one 5 m long and the other 5 m plus the length of the mat
- Choose a size that matches the area to be kept clear; for larger areas several mats can be combined
- Must be connected and tested by a qualified electrician; our official installation partner, Standard Electrical Services, can install the complete system
