The Herschel Summit is a powerful 2.6 kW far-infrared heater with a white ceramic coating, built for spaces that need strong, focused warmth without the glow you get from a medium-wave heater. Its slim shape sits neatly on a wall or overhead, making it a good fit for conservatories, extensions and rooms that open outdoors, as well as bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. It is also available in black.
The Summit is for indoors and rooms that open outdoors. It must always be under permanent cover and fully protected from rain or any other water. Most of our customers mount it on the ceiling so the heat falls straight onto the area below. In breezy or draughty spots the heated area can shrink by a third to a half, so you may need extra heaters, and for exposed outdoor areas our patio heaters are a better choice.

Controls
Two versions are available. The IR-SUMMIT-2600RW comes with a handheld remote that switches between full (100%) and half (50%) power and sets a timer from 1 to 24 hours. It is controlled by the remote only and cannot be connected to a thermostat or any other control.
The IR-SUMMIT-2600W has no remote and is designed to be wired to an external 16A thermostat for automatic temperature control. Any suitable 16A thermostat can be used, as it simply switches the heater on and off; see our thermostats. Installation
The Summit is supplied without a plug and needs to be hard-wired by a qualified electrician. Our official installation partner, Standard Electrical Services, can fit it for you and help decide on the best mounting position.
