The Herschel Florida is a 2kW infrared heater on a slim pole, equally at home on a family patio or in a pub garden or restaurant terrace. A stainless steel base and pole carry a black aluminium head fitted with a carbon fibre middlewave lamp, which gives a gentle orange glow without harsh glare and warms the people seated nearby within seconds.
The 40mm pole is narrow enough to pass through the parasol hole of most garden tables, so you can put the warmth right in the middle of an outdoor meal.
Full features, controls, installation notes and specifications are below.
Key features
- 2000W output with 50% and 100% settings
- Carbon fibre middlewave lamp rated for up to 10,000 hours
- Warm in 5 to 10 seconds, with a soft, low-glare light
- Built-in tip-over cut-out, and the base can be bolted down for extra stability
- Fits through the parasol opening of most patio tables
- Heats roughly 4 to 7m² outdoors or 6 to 12m² indoors
- Recycled material used in the underside of the base
Controls
A power switch on the heater turns it on and off and selects half or full power. This model does not have a remote control or timer.
Installation
Some simple self-assembly is required. Once built, the Florida plugs into a standard 13A socket using its 2m lead. It can stay outside all year, although it performs best in a sheltered spot. In open, breezy areas the warmth will not reach as far, so place it close to your seating or add another heater.
