The Herschel Malibu is a 2kW freestanding infrared heater you can carry to wherever the evening is happening, from a family patio or decking area to a café terrace. Its slim black aluminium body houses a woven carbon fibre lamp that gives off a soft orange glow and comfortable radiant warmth for the people sitting near it.
There is nothing to fix to a wall, so it is ready to use straight out of the box. Many customers also use it indoors as a top-up heater for cooler rooms.
Full features, controls, installation notes and specifications are below.
Key features
- 2000W output with a choice of half or full power
- Woven carbon fibre lamp rated for up to 10,000 hours
- Comes up to temperature in 5 to 10 seconds
- Mirror aluminium reflector sends the heat forwards instead of wasting it behind the unit
- Switches itself off automatically if knocked over
- Remote control and 24-hour timer included
- Compact, space-saving footprint that is easy to move around
Controls
Everything is handled from the supplied remote. Turn the heater on or off, select 50% or 100% power, and use the timer to run it for anything from 1 to 24 hours in one-hour steps.
Installation
No electrician is needed. Stand the Malibu on a firm, level surface, plug it into a normal socket using the 2m lead, and switch on. If your socket is further away, a 5m extension cable is available; just ask us.
Infrared warms people and surfaces rather than the air, so a strong breeze will reduce how far the heat reaches. On an open or windy site, place the heater closer to your seating or consider a second unit.
